ANNA GIUBA

Four of my head, four short stories by Anna Giuba, reading.
G-loves (2010), installation.

These short stories are born to illustrate the women's sculptures of a designer from Turin. In a second time, they became an autonomous work, a collection of short stories that tell minimal stories about women. Il La metà morfica is a subtile and ironic revisiting of the Kafka's Metamophosis, viewed from a feminine point of view, the other ones show human situations that sometimes haven't a voice (La testa nella polvere, Boccadirosa), while La donna di lettere plays ironically on words about the impossibility of the expression without culture.
These short stories are only apparently amusing: in reality, under the verbal and semantic play, there are different levels of writing, but what is really important, is that they are in an admittedly feminine perspective, where man is something else, often almost an enemy who doesn't want to listen to that voice, a very human one, that is in contrast and that is far, maybe in an uncomfortable way, from the identity of the stereotype mother-"lover - sister".

G-loves is an installation that tells, thorugh the material, dream and reality of woman, and it's realized by rubber gloves and powder of books.

Anna Giuba is the pseudonym of a writer and visul artist from Turin.
